Sond Industries is seeking an experienced CNC Quality Control Supervisor to lead all inspection and quality assurance functions within our precision machining operations supporting the Oil & Gas industry. This role is critical to ensure that all components meet stringent customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, deep knowledge of CNC machining processes, and advanced capability in CMM programming and calibration systems. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, and upholding Sond Industries’ commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable components for critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the Quality Control team in a fast-paced CNC machining environment.
- Oversee all inspection activities including first article (FAI), in-process, and final inspections.
- Program, operate, and maintain CMM equipment (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements specific to Oil & Gas components.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer specifications, and applicable industry standards.
- Manage and maintain the calibration program for all inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IMTE).
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for non-conformances.
- Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation, reports, and quality records.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years of quality control experience in CNC machining, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Advanced experience with CMM programming and inspection processes.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
- Experience managing calibration systems and ensuring compliance.
- Working knowledge of Oil & Gas quality requirements and customer expectations (tight tolerances, critical service components, traceability).
- Experience in ISO-regulated environments.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for job tracking and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with root cause methodologies.
- Ability to lead by example and drive accountability within the team.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification or degree in machining, manufacturing, or quality preferred.
